Authors and their work are impacted significantly by reviews. I know this because as one whose Casa de Naomi: The House of Blessing Books have received mostly 5 star reviews, I found that Amazon may suggest my books to shoppers who buy books like mine. Similarly as a highly ranked Amazon reviewer, I have, at times, been asked by authors to review their work. Believing that many so called "Indie Authors" work does not receive the acclaim it deserves because of that title, whenever possible, I try to make time to review.
Today, I have posted Julia Gousseva's 5* review of Beginning Anew, which will release on February 1, 2014 that says,
Today, I have posted Julia Gousseva's 5* review of Beginning Anew, which will release on February 1, 2014 that says,
“I have read and immensely enjoyed Paula Rose Michelson’s previous books about Naomi and was delighted to have a chance to read her latest novel. Just like the title states, Naomi’s life feels like it’s beginning anew in this book. Naomi and her husband Chaz seem to have resolved the problem of Naomi’s past that caused a major conflict in their relationship, and Naomi is happy to be starting life with Chaz with a fresh start. Feeling like a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly with Chaz’s love, Naomi is excited about the new house, she is in love, and she’s looking forward to providing shelter in her house, her casa de Naomi, to young girls, like she used to be not to so long ago. Naomi is amazed to discover that all the women who had previously owned her house were Spanish Jews, just like her. She wonders how it was possible “for three generations of Sephardic women still practicing the Jewish faith in secret to live and work” in that house and in that community “without being discovered.” But it’s not just the women who have (or had) a secret. Soon, Naomi will discover that Chaz, her husband, has a secret himself. And that’s just the beginning of this exciting and inspirational story of love, romance, suspense, and spiritual journey.
Paula Rose Michelson writes in an engaging
and beautiful style, leading her readers on a fascinating journey together with
Chaz and Naomi. It’s an emotional story
that many readers will be able to relate to, no matter what faith they belong
to. The characters are real, and their struggles are believable and life-like.
A wonderful novel that will inspire you, educate you, and keep you turning the
pages until the very last line.”
